Building the Roll

4 12 2009

Yesterday I registered an account at FullTilt Poker and cashed in $450. I’m going to try to build a roll one-tabling smaller turbo HU SNGs (mostly 23s and 33s at the beginning). I’m looking forward to crush the games and to enjoy to finally have some decent edge even though the turbo HU SNGs at FullTilt Poker are even faster than on Pokerstars. I hope I will win about 60-65% of the games at the mentioned buyins and will post stats about it from time to time. Guess which screen name I chose: PlauZee ;)

The subject of the post is not only about building a roll at FullTilt Poker, but about my VERY VERY sick run at Pokerstars as well. I ran pretty cold at HU SNGs lately and are more than happy to be back on track by mixing up the game playing some hands at the CashGame tables. I had another very lovely session at the CashGame-tables and made 7,5k playing a guy at three tables.

Just enjoy the most crucial hands of my CashGame session:

Today I finally published some thoughts about “Aspects of HU SNGs” and about the “Psychology of Poker“. I’m going to add more stuff to both sites from time to time and hope you will find it readable. Enjoy it :)

Actual stats: +9,7k in December (7k with HU CashGame) – “tableratings” had again problems tracking all hands and hopefully won’t add today’s sessions to my stats :D

Crushing

2 12 2009

First of all I don’t want to write about my archives and news, but to congratulate Pieter on his very sweet 25k tourney-win of last Sunday (1st place with $320 buy in). Very well done, buddy!!

After I had cashed out 90% of my roll I could manage to stick to my game-management playing only smaller buyins. I crushed some 115s and 230s, made about 2k playing the HU SNGs last days and finished the November with a lovely profit of almost 16k.

Last week I had my first training session teaching a guy from Germany who’s playing 22 and 33 HU SNGs regularly and is going to play the 55s very soon. We had a lot of fun with the fishes at his level, talked about different opponent styles and his game-management. He paid me $90/h and sent $50 more as a bonus after “we” won 12/14 HUs at his level while I was watching and teaching. I guess the time and money was worth it for both of us and I’m looking forward to see him crushing the 55s very soon. Gl dude!

Some days ago I took a shot at the HU Cashgame 3/6 and did it again, yesterday. I was playing a reg who was misreading my hands most of the time. Thanks to the great tablerating-stats (I really luv them! :P ) most regs seem to have a very hard time playing me and almost never fold toppair when I overbet the river with better hands. In the beginning I had a nice run and just collected the tilting-dollars afterwards. I left his table when he doubled, because I didn’t want to play too deep and too big pots and was up about 3k when running. Kevin was watching the show and took a shot with $300 buy in himself. Somehow he ran as god as well and was beating the reg in almost every hand. He collected another 2,5k and I finally had the feeling he was really glad about being a winning poker player ;) Just remember of that win next weeks and keep being optimistic!

Some HHs from HU Cashgame:

I’m already up almost 6k in December (4,2k with HU CashGame) and my bankroll is back in pretty nice shape. Let’s see if I can manage to reach the 15k this month again.
